Promised pictures

Without further ado, I present to you Mike's Christmas sweater:

This is the Man's Cabled Sweater out of last spring/summer's Rebecca magazine (the one with the cute short-sleeved purple sweater on front - I'm too lazy to go upstairs right now and get my copy to see what number it is) done out of Jo Sharp DK Wool. I'm very pleased with it.

Here's a closeup shot of the front:

And here's a sleeve:

As you can tell, once I was done with the ribbing, there wasn't a row that didn't need a cable needle. I do love cables, but I think I am cabled out for the time being!

I've got some more pictures! I was in a Vintage Christmas swap, and this is what my swap partner, Mo, sent me:

It's an ornament made out of a vintage spool covered in vintage Christmas paper. It's filled with little candies. I think it looks great on my tree, don't you? And if that weren't enough, her kids made this for Hayden:

A bar of soap with a Cinderella figurine inside! She saw the pictures of him with his princesses and thought that he might like it. Of course he does! It's great tool to use to get him to remember to wash his hands after using the bathroom. She and her kids are so thoughtful.

Oh that is so cool! Even as an adult I dig soap with stuff inside, what a great present.

That sweater looks great, well knit and good on.

Great job on the sweater. I can certainly relate to the deadline pressure -- but yours was way harder than the one I knit. My hat is off to you.

OMG! Beautiful sweater for your man. And not even the cheater way out of using bulky yarn like I'm doing. With that amount of cabling, figuring out the cabling without a cable needle is a godsend. That's one of my favorite techniques I learned last year...
