Last scarf done!

Thanks to my staying home from work today (yay for school breaks!) and an episode of MTV's "The Gauntlet II" last night, I was able to finish the last of Hayden's therapists' scarves. This one was dyed with Arctic Green Apple, and it's not as bright as you'd think a green apple would be. Next time we'll use more Kool-Aid packets. I'd also like to try my hand at doing multi-colored dyeing.

Next on the list are Mike's sweater sleeves. I'll work on those a little today, as well as a Super Secret Present To Be Revealed Soon (hopefully by Saturday!).

I like the color of the scarf! I had thought that KoolAid dying would result in way too bright colors, but the subdued minty(?) green looks v. sophisticated...

Are you going to try to dye your yarn to be self-striping? I saw an article on doing this recently though I can't find the link right now. You could turn into Vesper sock yarn too! All it takes is a little bit of Koolaid and some KnitPicks sock yarn and a really long hallway...

Thanks for showing the Green Apple color - I just purchased some myself, and I was wondering how it would come out. Looks great.

I share your sleeve pain - I am madly trying to finish the sleeves for my own husband's Christmas sweater, knitting every second he's out of the house. We both work at home full time so it is not easy to hide it!

Hey, I put my name IN - I didn't mean to be Anonymous! It's Anne, for the record.

What a cute picture! Such a nice shade of green (even though it's not what you intended). Really subtle and special, actually. Check out Fig and Plum's latest entry for multi-color kool-aid dying. I'm on the look out for a fiber (or info on a fiber) that's not-wool but absorbs kool aid colors just as well so let me know if you hear more!
